If you are like most people, you have probably considered installing security measures into your home. Most cities and suburbs have issues with crime, and even places that are considered very safe tend to have issues from time to time. Sometimes these are isolated events where multiple crimes are committed by a single person or single group of bad people, and they continue until the perpetrators are caught. Other times it is simply a softness in the targets of an area that brings the crime to it. What is most interesting is that the areas with the least amount of crime will tend to have the most as far as security measures. This might be because the people who live there simply can afford it, but there also could be a reliance upon yourself to protect your home in less wealthy areas, as opposed to relying upon devices.

Generally, they work by means of a threat that there is a device on premises that makes it more likely that you will be caught because someone is alerted that you have entered the home. This does not actually stop them from entering, just means that they will need to hurry more, or potentially move to the next target that does not have these measures in place. Another common practice is to install a protective film on the windows that are near entry doors, because glass is easy to break. The installation of a security window film makes the glass far more difficult to break, which would slow down entry into the home. These films will tend to obscure the view, as they are almost never clear.
Probably the best way to actually prevent entry into your home is iron security doors and gates, which literally put iron bars up in front of areas that pose a weakness. Since a window can be easily broken, iron security bars will make it so that a person still cannot enter. Since a door can be kicked in, iron gates in front of it make t so that the person cannot get near the door. The best part about iron is that it is not only strong but can also be beautiful. This is why you see this so much in more expensive homes, because iron has the ability to provide elegance and at the same time present a barrier that you would need a blowtorch to get through. Those who can afford more can add to these security gates and barriers through ornamentation, which actually does not weaken the structure. These combined create a space that portrays calss and elegance, and also says to those who would like to harm you that you take security seriously.
